A little update

The end of my Master's is almost in sight.  The theory exam is done, the assignments finished, with only my portfolio to go, and a horrible plant identification exam looming next week.  My head is spinning with latin names!  The calendar is filling up fast with weddings, and I am trying to find some dates to fit in a few workshops.  Do let me know if you are interested.

I am also thinking of running "hen party" workshops, whereby you come as a group of friends, have some fun creating a design of your choice, with lunch in the garden and some fizz too.  These can be booked at a date of your choice.

Here are a few pictures of some work I have done recently and looking forward to all my weddings this summer.  Nicky

CRESSIDA & JONNY - A PERFECT MATCH!

A truly wonderful day and wow what a wedding.  I was so lucky to be part of Jonny and Cressida's special day.  It really is an honour and privilidge when you create the wedding flowers for friends that you have known for so long!  Here are a few pictures of their special day.

February 2016 - Congratulations to Katie and Peter

Wow, what an amazing wedding!  A beautiful marquee in the garden, on the windiest day of the year, but nothing deterred Katie and Peter from having an amazing day!  Here are some photos of their wedding flowers.

Jenny and Elliott - Crazy Bear, Oxfordshire

David Austin roses, sweet avalanche roses, orchids, and white hydrangeas complimented my beautiful bride!

A Real English Country Wedding

Congratulations to Tor and Dan on their Wedding Day - 12th September 2015

Congratulations to Dominique and Jonathan - 15th August 2015

A wedding with everything.  A lot of planning and lots of designing.  We eventually came up with the gold table stands made from banister spindles and marble bases for the 15 tables.  A huge door arch, and peonies in August for her bouquet,  kept me challenged!

A Sneaky August Workshop

A lovely day teaching Penny and Shelley to make buttonholes and posies for their daughter and son's upcoming wedding in September.

I will be holding another two workshops in September, so don't forget to book your place.  I can take up to 6 people, and the course includes lunch and refreshments.  £65 per head.

Maria and Matt - Saturday 8th August 2015

This weeks wedding was a totally different style of wedding, with soft, cottage flowers contrasting with the gorgeous grey/blue dresses of the bridesmaids and Maria's stunning lace dress.  The four little bridesmaids were adorable, with their gyp bouquets. The wedding took place at St. Peter and St Paul, Tring, and the reception was held at Hamden House, Great Missenden.

Congratulations to Vikki and Toby

Whilst I have five minutes, I thought I would share some photos of my beautiful bride Vikki and her husband Toby on their wedding day.  They were married in Burford, Gloucestershire, where I delivered her bouquets and partied at Pendley Manor, Tring.  Don't forget Alfie the dog, whose collar I made too.  I loved working with the elegant calla lilies which complimented Vikki and her dress!

Claire & Kevin's Wedding

I thought I would just share with you the bouquet, buttonholes and corsages I made today for Claire and Kevin's wedding at Micklefield Hall in Sarrat.  The bouquet is made up of lots of cottage flowers which I grow;  including delphiniums, larkspur, cornflowers, sweet peas, lavender campanula, oak, honeysuckle and peonies with some roses for the pink colouring.

Time for another Workshop

I apologise for not updating my blog since May.  Life has been so hectic, what with the village garden open day, which was a huge success, studying for my Masters, weddings and plenty of flower orders.  I also squeezed in a workshop on Sunday for Claire and her friends celebrating her birthday.  We had an amazing day and they managed to make not only a floral table centre, glued a hair comb and made some amazing head dresses.  They lunched in the garden and we all indulged in chocolate birthday cake.

I will be running a couple more workshops this summer, and the dates I propose are:

  • 21st August 2015
  • 28th August 2015
  • 4th September 2015
  • 11th September 2015

If you would like to book a date, give me a call and you can choose what you would like to make.  Bring some friends, and have a fun day out.  The cost of a workshop is £60 per head, and includes all materials and lunch.

Workshops

I really thought the sun was going to shine today, but no, so time to update you on my workshops.  Workshops are continuing but no longer on Wednesday's, as I am in sunny Guildford studying.  I have added some more dates, so if you are interested, why not give me a call and tell me what you would like to create.  I am more than happy to do a bridal workshop, an arrangement, or something more unusual with a design feel.

GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!

As some of you know, I was offered a place, earlier in the year, to study for my Masters Diploma in Floristry.  I accepted and was told the course would start in September, giving me time to continue building up my workshops, concentrate on my weddings, and finish all the decorating jobs in the house and get the garden ready for "Open Gardens" in June.

I found out yesterday the course starts next week!  So I will be commuting to Guildford every Wednesday for another 13 months. Very exciting!

I will continue to run my business, whilst studying, but my Wednesday workshops will have to be moved to another day.  I will post more workshop dates shortly.

Here's to a busy, exciting summer and being a mature student for just a little bit longer!
